With a lifelong passion for performance cars and a distinctly old-school approach to life, Donald Senior brings a wealth of experience, knowledge and personality to Autobahn Scotland.
His automotive journey began long before today's supercars, with a succession of performance favourites including Ford Capris and Escorts, Vauxhall SRis, Renault Sports and BMWs.
Around 20 years ago, he bought his first Porsche, a 996 Turbo, which remains in the family as a daily driver and has now covered over 100,000 miles. As a passionate Porsche GT enthusiast, he has owned a number of Porsche’s most focused performance models and currently enjoys a GT3 RS.
His enthusiasm for the marque led him to serve as Regional Organiser for Porsche Club GB's Scotland Region 1 for five years. During his time in the role, countless track days, social gatherings and memorable drives helped him forge lasting friendships and develop a deeper appreciation for what makes the automotive community so special.
It was those experiences and the friendships that helped inspire the creation of Autobahn Scotland six years ago, alongside his son. Their vision was to build on everything they valued while opening the doors to enthusiasts of other sports, supercar and performance marques.
Today, he is the familiar face welcoming members at events and the man behind the club's emails and communications. He prefers the personal touch with a warm welcome making sure everyone feels valued and part of the occasion.
For him, Autobahn Scotland is about much more than the cars. It's about the people, the friendships and the shared experiences that make a passion for motoring something worth celebrating.

A passion for performance cars wasn’t something Donald Junior discovered later in life, it was simply part of growing up. While others kicked a ball around, he was happiest behind the wheel, and his first toy, unsurprisingly, a Matchbox car.
His driving journey began on his 18th birthday with a brand-new Ford Fiesta, soon followed by a succession of Volkswagen Polo and Golf GTIs, including the rather special Golf GTI Clubsport S, a stripped-back, two-seat hot hatch complete with a roll cage. Several performance BMWs followed, but with a father who always seemed to know best, particularly when it came to how quickly his son should be driving, there was always a benchmark to chase.
Eventually, it was time to step out of his father’s shadow. The opportunity to secure a paint-to-sample Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 in Viola Purple was one that couldn't be ignored. As the first example of its kind in the UK, it was a particularly special addition and a fitting milestone in his automotive journey.
Away from the driver’s seat, Junior balances his full-time career with developing Autobahn Scotland. From maintaining and updating the website to identifying potential partners, exploring new opportunities and helping shape the club’s future, he is always looking for ways to enhance the member experience.
A self-confessed perfectionist, he believes the details matter. That mindset carries directly into the events he organises, where careful planning and attention to detail ensure everything runs like clockwork.
For Junior, Autobahn Scotland is the natural extension of a passion that began in childhood, bringing together exceptional cars, like-minded people and memorable experiences, while building something that will continue to grow for years to come.
